At Reiki Evolution we routinely ask our students to let us have their feedback about the training and support that they receive. We have set ourselves high standards and want to make sure that our students are happy with their training, and soliciting feedback is a good way of making sure that we are on track.
Below you can read testimonials from people who have been through Taggart King's Reiki Evolution First Degree Reiki home study course. Please note that Taggart no longer runs live courses himself since he prefers to teach students one-to-one via home study courses.

"I have enjoyed this course immensely. It was certainly not the easy option but I feel well prepared and able to do Reiki after completing the course. Taggart is supportive and was always willing to answer any questions and address any problems that occur during the course. Feedback was always very prompt and comprehensive. The guided meditation CD makes it easy to follow the meditation techniques. The course CD manual is very easy to follow and very comprehensive. There is not much more that you would need to know at 1st level. It addresses most issues and questions that new students might have.
Contact and support does not end with the course: it is ongoing. You still receive regular newsletters and upon finishing the course, you will be invited to join the Reiki online chat group. This puts you in touch with other Reiki practitioners and allows you to discuss Reiki experiences and queries with both Taggart and other practitioners."

The course was an excellent grounding in Reiki and clearly described what might happen, or what the student could expect, and over the period of 6 weeks, gradually developing my gift of healing. "I had done the first and second degree here in Bahrain at 'live' courses. I have to say I was left feeling very uninformed and felt a little bit like Reiki was 'magic'!
How ever you introduced me to the actual energy, and being able to identify and recognise it. Your course though taught me the disciplines of the Hatsurei Ho and the guided meditations I still use to this day believe it or not! I no longer use the CD but follow the format for my own healings, and have to say I have not found a better meditation that is as easy or as rewarding.
The manuals were also of excellent standard, and I can honestly say I can find no fault in them what so ever. Your courses are much, much more informative and sensible than any other I have seen, been to, or heard about! Keep up the good work!"

"I thought the course covered just about evey angle of the subject. The manual was (is) great, the CD is great and the recommended exercises are great. Your e-mail support was also great: considerate, patient and kind.
As to whether or not I have achieved what I want, well, I remember reading in the manual that Reiki builds up, and that we don't know how it has helped/worked until we look back. I find this to be so true. There has been a certain clarity for me in regards to all things...I feel I'm able to see the bigger picture, and am more relaxed about things. Long may it last!

"I am by nature a slow learner, and also my hearing has a lot to be desired. I have just recently been fitted with two hearing aids. So taking both of the above into consideration I felt that to try and absorb all that I would need and want to know into one weekend would be for me , a wasted exercise. So I decided to opt for the home course. Having never experienced a Reiki treatment I had no real idea of what to expect.
I found that the combination of the manual and CD were very helpful, and being able to cross reference between the two plus the fact that I was able to take my time and re-read any part I had possibly over looked or forgotten was for me a definite plus. Also upon reporting back to Taggart on a weekly basis anything I had found or experienced helped to clarify in my own mind what my experiences were. Added to that of course was the very prompt and helpful response I received by return.
I will admit that I had doubts about what to expect from the distance initiations. I still find it hard to describe properly what I felt at those times. However, upon trying to apply what I had learned I was greatly surprised and in one particular case almost dumbstruck by the results.
So to try to summarise. I feel that the experience was well worth the effort, and that in due course I will most certainly want to move forward. I would gladly recommend to anybody who felt tempted to dip thir toe in the water to give it a go. The experience is well worth the effort."

“I have been very impressed with the online First Degree Reiki Course which I have just completed.
The manual was easy to follow, as was the CD.
Being able to contact yourself by e-mail with any questions was straightforward and completing the course slowly over many weeks worked well for me, as I could go at my own pace and I only had to extend by one week.
I found that being told exactly what to do before being told to then work more intuitively is just the right way for me. It gives me the foundation and confidence to work by instinct when I have all the information and step by step instructions to fall back on if necessary.
The impact on my own health was immediate and I found the little things, like not being so light sensitive, liberating. I usually have to wear sunglasses even when the sun is not shining; even cloud cover reflected too much light. Now I don’t need to wear my sunglasses even when it is sunny.
Also, oddly, I no longer wear a watch. I used to be time paranoid and was always checking the time constantly.
I like the online Reiki group. I read the comments every day and find them very interesting.
I will be contacting you again in a couple of months, when I am ready to move onto the Second Degree Reiki Course.

“I am comfortable saying that I could not fault it on any way, shape or form. The biggest advantage to the home study course is that it enabled me to progress at my own pace and if it wasn't for that, in my case, I would not have embraced Reiki as part of my daily life as much as I have, neither would it have had the impact it has.
I found the CD crucially important in setting a routine, with regards to timing and length of the exercise practices. Without it I would have fallen into patterns of shortcuts for both Hatusrei ho and self-treatment meditation. For me the layout and the pace of the course work very well and did not left me wanting to progress any faster, juts let the energy do its work. As a result of this course I am seriously considering progressing to stage two.
I would recommend home study to anybody who is interested in Reiki, even those that have previous attended a weekend workshop. I am eternally grateful."

“Dear Taggart,
I had first hand experience of a Reiki treatment when I was injured in a martial arts bout in the Far East 30 years ago: an old Japanese gentleman channelled what I felt to be amazing energies into my body, which allowed me to continue in the competition.
I have always wanted, from that period on, to understand and learn the techniques eh used on me, unfortunately I never seemed to find the time or a creditable person to teach me. Recovering from a major operation h=gave me the time, but being a practising Aikido Shihan (and used to wild statements made by some martial arts teachers) I felt some of the claims made by Reiki teachers advertising on the Internet were at the best exaggerated and at the worst false and misleading.
Reading through yours and some of your students’ comments on the web, and then speaking at length with your wife, I understood that your Shoden courses offered in a distant learning format was my way forward.
Within 3 days of ordering I had received your first degree manual and CD disks, I became totally engrossed in the material, it was presented in such a way that learning was challenging, but because one section led naturally to the next section information was easily retained and recalled. Obviously I had many questions, and my e-mails to you were frequent, but you always responded quickly and in depth, this left no doubt in my mind that I had found the Reiki teaching I had sought over a number of years.

”Working through your First Degree Home Study Course has been a challenging, exciting and worthwhile journey. I wanted a comprehensive and sound coverage of the fundamentals of this lovely system and I have not been disappointed. As a real bonus, the known original teachings of Mikao Usui are well covered in the course, alongside much-altered and embellished Westernised approaches, which for me is essential. Simplicity is not only the essence of Usui Reiki but its beauty and its power.
The manual is well written and consequently easy to read and digest. The ‘chapters’ of the first audio CD nicely encapsulate the various subjects dealt with in the course. The meditation CD with its appropriate music and tranquil voice provides a very effective way of experiencing and learning the meditations.

“When I first considered doing a Reiki course it never occurred to me that I would be able to do a home study course, I really thought that I would have to do an evening course or something similar.
When I discovered Reiki Evolution’s home study course, I wondered how it would be possible to learn Reiki without meeting a teacher and being shown what to do.
However, I read some of the testimonials and thought as a mother of three, who runs my own business too, that this would be a good option for me.
Once I received the course information, I found it very easy to understand and follow. I do think that it is important to follow the advice given about listening to the CD and to read the manual as instructed because this allows you to not take on too much too soon.
I found the info quickly explained how Reiki can be taught via home study and once I carried out the first energy play was in no doubt at all.
The course itself is easy to follow and is very well explained as to what is required for feedback etc.
It was extremely enjoyable.
The CD is extremely helpful and the meditation CD very helpful in assisting in knowing what to do when doing Hatusrei ho and the self=treatment meditation.
The course material is also good for reference and answers a lot of questions that cropped up.
I would highly recommend the home study course to anyone who is considering it. You get to learn at your own pace and can use the energy a lot as you have plenty of time.
I really liked that the support from Taggart was there, but that I could also go at my own pace and wasn’t put under any pressure to complete by a certain time.
