Hello my name is Jaz Hothi and I’m based in Birmingham, West Midlands. I’ve recently had the honour of joining Taggart King’s team of Reiki Evolution teachers. Prior to this I’ve been running courses in Reiki since 2006 using course materials provided by Reiki Evolution due to the excellent course structure and quality materials. Seeing students go through the transformation and continually evolve is what gives me a deep sense of satisfaction. My background is in Naturopathic Nutrition and I’m qualified as a Bowen Therapist. I love how Reiki blends and augments my other therapies offering me insights into a patient with a more holistic approach.
How my journey began
After my father died of cancer and feeling powerless to help. I remember offering a prayer at the time and thinking "God I wish I could just lay my hands on him and healing energy would come out and relieve his pain". Little did I realise that this prayer would be answered later after he passed away. I began a personal quest to discover alternative healing methods. I began by enrolling at a college of complementary medicine to specialise in Naturopathic Nutrition and learnt amongst other things about cleansing the body. So a year later off I went to a spa resort in Thailand to detox my body. It was here that I encountered a Reiki teacher. I had a leg injury which hadn’t healed fully which had plagued me for years so I thought I’m on holiday, I’m open minded, why not give it a try? So I had a treatment. To my surprise two days later my leg injury had completely healed. I approached the teacher to train me in the technique and completed levels one and two. The attunement was a beautiful experience. I felt the feeling of love growing in my heart for myself and everyone. I realised that what I was asking for had been answered - just not on my time schedule!
Being a two week holiday I was limited to learning levels 1 and 2. When I got back I practised reiki regularly on myself, family and friends and there was a sense of awe and wonder with my new found abilities but I couldn't help feeling there was something lacking in the Reiki I had learnt and thinking there must be more to this.
With the hundreds of websites offering Reiki, I felt a strong intuition to learn level 3 with Reiki Evolution and am very happy I did. The technique of Reiki Evolution is profound in its simplicity, teaching and power. It’s been the missing link to what I learned in Thailand as I was allowed to revisit levels 1 and 2 as taught by Reiki Evolution. I found a big difference in what I learned compared with my other lineage (although I am very grateful and honoured to know my previous teacher for exposing me to this wonderful energy). While being attuned to level 3 I felt the presence of other beings of light in the room with my teacher (Tina Shaw) as if they were reminding me of something I’d forgotten. What a wonderful experience it was.
Reiki has enriched my life, put me in touch with people and changed my relationship for the better with those around me, as I understand and am in tune more with what people are feeling. I have a better relationship with my other half and sense her problems before she does (sometimes). I use it in everyday situations such as on relative and friends, people in pain, before an interview, cleansing my house, distant healing and on myself. Reiki has truly blessed my life.
What reiki can do for you
Once you’ve received an empowerment, Reiki is always in the background helping you like a constant companion. If you feel lost it can help you find your path. Give you the courage to make difficult decisions. Develop your sixth sense or intuition thereby helping you to avoid negative situations or people. Help to restore physical and emotional harmony. Aid spiritual growth. Empowers you to help other around you. Compliment and augments existing therapies. Reiki is only limited to your imagination.
As your teacher I hope to inspire you with the same passion and enthusiasm I have for Reiki. I do my best to make the course is a special and unique experience for all my students with an atmosphere that is relaxed and conducive to the Reiki experience. I love teaching my students and I love learning from them as well. After the course you can expect on-going support.
