Reiki Fest^TM is a day-long celebration of Reiki at a wonderful venue on the edge of Epping Forest, and only 20 minutes from London.

You are all invited to attend, no matter what form of Reiki you practise or what lineage you have.

There will be talks, workshops and time to make new Reiki friends. There will be meditations and chanting, and a vegetarian buffet lunch is included. If you are coming from further afield, there is inexpensive accommodation on site.

Reiki Fest^TM is all about celebrating the different flavours of Reiki, and our logo represents that, with all the colours of the rainbow branching off the same root. We want you at Reiki Fest if you are happy to respect different ways of working with Reiki, and realise that there are many ways of working with this wonderful energy. If you are dogmatic and intolerant and believe that the way you were taught Reiki is the right way, and everyone else is wrong, then I think you should stay away.

We haven't completely finalised the schedule for the day, but I can tell you some of the things that we have planned. I am very excited about this:

Amanda Jayne from Jikiden Reiki will be giving a talk and hosting a workshop on this form of Japanese Reiki from the 1930s, based on the teachings of Chiyoko Yamaguchi, a student of the Hayashi Reiki Kenkyukai. Amanda became a Shihan in Jikiden Reiki in 2006, having trained in Kyoto for 4 years, and has presented courses in Europe and Japan, alongside Tadao Yamaguchi, Chiyoko's son.

Karen Font-Garcia, founder of the Golden Light Reiki School will be giving a talk and hosting a workshop on Karuna Reiki, developed by William Rand in the 1990s. Karuna is a Sanskrit word and is used in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is translated to mean any action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others and could also be translated as "compassionate action."

Sarah Berrisford, founder of the Epona Equine Reiki Centre has developed an incredible reputation and is attracting students from all over the world to attend her Equine Reiki courses in south Lincolnshire. Sarah will be giving a talk about Animal Reiki, including using Reiki with horses.

Taggart King is founder of Reiki Evolution and hosts courses throughout the UK through his team of trusted teachers, all of whom are passing on a form of Reiki based on what Mikao Usui was teaching largely prior to the arrival of the Imperial Officers. Taggart, who is also a Cognitive Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner, will be hosting a workshop of meditations, old and new, as well as hosting Reiki Fest^TM.

Reiki Fest^TM will be held at Gilwell Park Conference Centre, with a 17th Century Grade II listed building in over 100 acres. There is free onsite parking, the venue is only 20 minutes by train from central London, it's close to the M25 and, if you need to stay overnight, there are 41 en-suite bedrooms available to book at very reasonable prices.

Taggart is starting running live courses again, and the first of these is a day-long Reiki Master Teacher refresher course, which he will be teaching in London and at other UK locations.

Book on this course and we will run through the main themes and principles of the Reiki Evolution RMT course, with overviews, exercises and insights. We will deal with attunements, empowerments and self-empowerments, we will experience and direct energy using symbols, sounds and metaphor, review meditations, and see how Reiki Evolution presents original Reiki teachings in a way that works in a 'Western' framework. We will explore intuition and intent and discover the ideal way of working with them.

This isn't just a repeat of the Reiki Evolution RMT course: Taggart will be exploring the principles and themes that support the Reiki Evolution way, emphasising simplicity and intuition and our flexible approach, and you have the chance to train with the founder of Reiki Evolution.

You can qualify for this course if you have trained with Taggart in the past (either on a live course or a home study RMT course), if you have trained at RMT level with one of our team of teachers (either booking through Reiki Evolution or privately with the teacher), or otherwise if you have Taggart in your RMT lineage (though in that case, please contact us to check).

My name is Faiy Rushton and I have been working as a Reiki practitioner since 2007 and shortly after becoming a Reiki Master/Teacher began running my own Reiki training courses in Northamptonshire, teaching for Reiki Evolution from 2011.

I host a Reiki share on the first Monday of every month. My First Degree Reiki courses run virtually every month, with Second degree Reiki classes on alternate months and Reiki Master/ Teacher courses are run twice a year. The Reiki training venue is the secondary school I work in as a therapist/teacher. This is in Corby, Northamptonshire, which is approximately half an hour from the M1/M6/A14 junction and 20 minutes from the A1, and within easy reach of Leicester and Northampton, Kettering and Market Harborough.

Having been trained by Reiki Evolution I was absolutely confident that the course materials, information and training I would deliver as a Reiki teacher would be accurate, interesting and balanced.

The course materials you receive before the Reiki course are comprehensive; they are thorough and you receive all the information you need for each level. However, they are also very accessible; the practical demonstrations are easy to follow and enable any student to feel confident that they will be able to use the techniques on the day. As someone who learns kinaesthetically I found receiving information in written, audio and visual forms really useful, rather than just the written word.

Learning Reiki with Reiki Evolution means that you understand the form of Reiki that Mikao Usui, Reiki’s founder, would have originally used, which is simpler and less cluttered than ensuing Reiki lineages. It is this simplicity that really works for me as a Reiki practitioner and as a Reiki Master/Teacher; without the stress of remembering overcomplicated routines you are able to let the energy flow and the impact on the receiver is all the more focused and powerful in my experience. At the same time, you receive a good grounding in understanding the style of Reiki brought to the West by Mrs.Takata and will find yourself with the same knowledge and skills as other Reiki practitioners but using the uncluttered techniques of Mikao Usui’s original Reiki practice.

Reiki Evolution is a supportive organisation; you have access to your teacher and Taggart for any concerns or questions you may have after your course. Also, you have all your course materials to refer to at any time. There is an online forum, which is exceptionally supportive for anyone at all levels. There are special interest groups that you can join that allow you to explore various ways in which you can use Reiki.

One of the main reasons I decided to do my Reiki Master/Teacher training was because my clients wanted me to teach them Reiki healing so I decided to unite two different parts of my life (I had been a secondary school teacher) and learn to teach Reiki.

I love teaching Reiki because I love Reiki! It has been so life transforming for me that it is a delight for me to share and teach Reiki techniques. I like my courses to be straightforward and clutter free. The beauty of Reiki Evolution courses is that you do not have to take notes as you have all the information in the manuals and CDs, so on the day of the course it is purely experiential hands on (or off!) learning.

I take my students through the courses in a calm, supportive way, enabling them to practically show me what they have learned from the pre-course reading, listening and watching without feeling that they are being tested. The emphasis is always on all of us doing Reiki together. At the same time, there is often much laughter on Reiki training days as it is fun to experiment and try out different Reiki techniques.

It is always so rewarding to hear how people feel when they experience the strength of Reiki energy for the first time during the course and afterwards when they are using it in their daily lives. I feel that I learn so much from my student’s experiences of Reiki.

After the course is finished I positively encourage my students to contact me to ask questions or to just let me know how they are getting on with Reiki. I send out a weekly Reiju Empowerment for my students to tune into alongside Taggart’s. Plus they have the option to join the Reiki Evolution online forum; which gives you access to a variety of information about Reiki.

Well, it finally happened: the event that sold out in 10 days when we announced it in April took place at the lovely Regent's College in central London and everyone seemed to have a great time. There was a lovely, positive atmosphere and laughter, and people came away having made new friends, and buzzing with energy.

There were fascinating talks by Sarah Berrisford (Animal Reiki), Mel Diamond (Sound Healing) and Martine Moorby (Sacred Space), we all learned how to pronounce the Reiki Precepts in Japanese, and a fair amount of chanting went on.

Workshops dealt with "Discovering your intuitive self" (Tina Shaw), "Reiki and Crystals" (Linda Vickers) and "Taoist Yin Yoga" (Sue Norman), and "Health at your fingertips" (Hannah Shine), Sound Healing (Mel Diamond) and a special "Power Retrieval Ritual" (Kay Gillard).

To be honest, the day was over too soon, and I think a lot of people would have been happy to stay there for the weekend!

I would like to thank my fantastic team of teachers for all their help, their knowledge, their talent, for making the day such a success.

We have already set a date for the 2012 National Gathering, which will be Saturday October 6th at Baden Powell House near South Kensington. This is a bigger venue so we should be able to accommodate more people who would like to attend, there will be a mix of talks, chatting, workshops, socialising and fun; there is even accommodation on site, very reasonably priced.
